The vibes in this goth bar are immaculate! With a dark interior and black walls, they have multiple shows throughout the week (drag shows, karaoke nights). There are fun booths, barseats, and an outdoor patio. The space also includes a few arcade games (Ms. Pac-Man, Tetris) and a pool table. The bartender is also AMAZING. Besides the many delicious cocktails on the menu, she was also willing to make any drinks we were interested in trying! One does need to show ID before entering and note that on weekend nights, it does get quite crowded.

Nothing healthy to eat is my only criticism, but it just isn’t that sort of place. THE SURLY WENCH IS A TUCSON LEGEND. I have been coming here since they opened. Great vibe, great drinks, great crowd, great entertainment. It’s a great spot.

Love this bar. Good drink selection. Fun, relaxing atmosphere with great service. Shelby took great care of us. We had the sampler from the fryer. Everything was delicious. The eclectic assortment of decorations is charming.

Came here to get a bite to eat and was very impressed with their signature fries. The chicken sandwich was very good and so was the burger, I just thought the Burger would come with ketchup and mustard. Good prices

The Surly Wench is always a blast, but Chelsey takes the experience to a whole new level. From the moment you sit down, she makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be—whether you’re a regular or just wandering in for the first time. Chelsey is everything you want in a bartender: quick, attentive, hilarious, and totally in control even on a packed night. She mixes a killer drink (seriously, her pours are perfect), and somehow still finds time to crack a joke or give a genuine smile. Her energy keeps the place buzzing, and you can tell she’s a big part of why the vibe is so electric. The Surly Wench is known for being bold, wild, and unforgettable—and Chelsey fits that spirit perfectly. If you’re looking for a fun night out with strong drinks, great music, and a bartender who absolutely gets it, look no further. Chelsey is a rockstar. I’m never disappointed with the experience and delicious food, drinks and the staff of Surly. You must go and chill, it’s well worth it. The chicken sandwich is to die for with the jalapeño mayo and the family recipe burger is fabulous. See you there!

Very cool bar in 4th avenue in downtown Tucson. I stopped by in a Thursday (karaoke night apparently) and had some tots and a “cherry limeade”. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were top notch. This whole area of downtown is loaded with cool bars and shops but this place stood out to me on my visit.

If you love eclectic, fun, and funky places and a good lesbian bar is up your alley - look no further than the Surly Wench Pub! One of my favorite events in Tucson is their monthly burlesque show on the first Friday of the month. Relaxed, somewhat campy, and super fun atmosphere allows for a good time for all.

this place reminds me of the old blank club/ the Ritz back in San Jose. '80s nights and goth nights, and the occasional burlesque night as well. pretty much the coolest club in Tucson if you are not in the country, nor 21 years old and waiting in line to get into the playground. I never did get the food here, but I should remedy that. they have Sierra Nevada, and they have booze, and they have the most live dance floor that I am aware of in the area. there is a decidedly matte black aesthetic to everything, including the bartenders, which I especially appreciate. everyone is welcome, and everyone has a good time

Had a blast at David Bowie Night! Everyone was so welcoming and the vibe was spot on. 100% coming back!!!
